The Phillies will be honoring great educators in the region who are making a difference during the 21st annual Teacher Appreciation Night powered by Constellation. Each year, the Phillies select 10 area teachers, nominated by current and former students, parents and peers, to honor as All-Star Teachers. Nominate your All-Star Teacher now! Submissions will be accepted until 4:59 p.m. ET on March 19, 2021.
Education and literacy are at the forefront of the Phillies' community efforts. Using baseball to teach in fun and innovative ways, the Phillies have developed programs and partnered with various organizations to provide teachers, students and parents exciting ways to enhance the learning experience.

Phanatic About Reading, presented by Xfinity, encourages students in grades Pre-K through 8th grade to read for a minimum of 15 minutes a day to improve literacy skills. Top performing classrooms could receive a special experience with the Phillie Phanatic.

The Phillies & Major League Baseball have launched a baseball-themed online education program for kids called Summer Slugger. This interactive gamified course makes learning fun, and helps prevent the “summer slide” - the loss of critical math and literacy skills during time away from the classroom. The course is recommended for 4th-5th graders and is available to individual students, schools, and community organizations at no cost.

The most significant moment in Major League Baseball history took place on April 15, 1947 when Jackie Robinson made his Major League debut and forever broke the baseball color barrier. It is a moment that still resonates throughout baseball today, as every player, coach and fan continues to honor the legacy of the man who made advancements possible for many within the game.

America at Bat: The Color of Baseball is an educational piece that asks those utilizing the curriculum to examine, critically think about and understand the history of the Negro Leagues. The curriculum allows for an understanding of what was taking place in the United States, and at times, internationally, while the Negro Leagues were in existence.

The Phillies celebrated students who are going above and beyond both inside and outside of the classroom during the 3rd annual All-Star Students Night. The Phillies recognized 10 students, nominated by their teachers, to honor as All-Star Students.

A partnership with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and sponsored by Chick-fil-A, Phillies Phundamentals is a summer camp program for children 6-12 years old that uses baseball to teach and reinforce academic skills.

The Center City skyline received a major league makeover in August, 2015. The City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program and the Phillies joined forces on a Center City mural celebrating the history of the Philadelphia Phillies - the oldest, continuous, one-name, one-city franchise in all of professional sports.
